Prayers at a time of death

Be with us now, Lord, as we hand our dear departed N over to your eternal care.

Give us strength and comfort in these sad and painful moments as we let go of N.

Let us be assured that we will meet N again when your love destroys death itself and

gathers us all into your eternal presence and peace. Amen.

God of all consolation,

your Son Jesus Christ was moved to tears

at the grave of Lazarus his friend.

Look with compassion on your children in their loss;

give to troubled hearts the light of hope;

and strengthen in us the gift of faith,

in Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Words of Comfort when coping with the death of a family member or a friend.

He will wipe away the tears from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain,

for the old order of things has passed away.

Revelation 21:4
